Compliance questions we're asked most

What happens if my Operator Licence is called to public inquiry?

Act quickly. A public inquiry is your opportunity to show the Traffic Commissioner that your business is compliant and well run. We help you assemble the evidence, put corrective action in place before the hearing, and work alongside our specialist transport solicitors on your representation.

How often should driver files and maintenance records be audited?

As a minimum, we recommend a full internal audit every twelve months, with rolling spot checks each month on tachograph infringements, PMI intervals, defect reporting and driver licence checks. Most operators find that monthly monitoring catches issues while they are still cheap to fix. Our audit and inspection support covers exactly this — tell us what you need.

We've just lost our transport manager. What do we do?

You must notify the Traffic Commissioner and put an acceptable interim arrangement in place. We can support you through the notification, help you assess and recruit a suitable replacement, and provide interim transport manager support so your licence stays valid.

Do you work with small fleets as well as large operators?

Yes. We support single-vehicle operators through to fleets of several hundred. The scope of the work changes; the standard we hold you to does not.
